Corbett to the Historic Highway
Take in the Gorge’s breathtaking waterfalls and scenic views
- Start the trip at the Corbett Country Market and fuel up for the day with delicious breakfast hand pies, custom beef jerky, local honey and picnic fare.
- Head east onto the Historic Columbia River Highway and stop for U-pick blueberries and fresh pies at Kirby’s Blueberry Farm.
- Practically next door, take in fragrant U-pick lavender fields & home made lavender soaps and lotions at Columbia View Lavender Farm
- Get out your camera for your first view of the stunning Columbia River Gorge & the Crown Point-Vista House at the Portland’s Women’s Forum
- Continue to the Crown Point-Vista House for more sweeping views of the Gorge and learn the history of the historic highway
- Visit 224 foot tall Latourell Falls and walk to the base of the falls to feel its cool mist and see its lichen covered basalt walls.
- Walk to the the picturesque Benson footbridge at Multnomah Falls, Oregon’s highest waterfall at 620 feet.
- Make a quick stop at Horsetail Falls and watch the 176 foot thundering falls cascade into a shallow pool.
- Complete the historic highway and head back to Troutdale via Highway 84 for a tasty lunch at the Sugarpine Drive-in on the banks of the Sandy River.
- Grab a craft beer, sip a tasty wine or spend the night at the historic and quirky McMenamins Edgefield Hotel.
