TROUTDALE TO HOOD RIVER

Follow the salmon’s journey up the Columbia river while enjoying local food & drinks

  • Visit Bonneville Lock and Dam to watch salmon swim upriver through the fish ladders, see barges navigate the locks and visit Herman the Sturgeon, Oregon’s favorite fish weighing in at 500 lbs.
  • After the fish viewing, have a delicious seafood or bbq lunch in Cascade Locks at Brigham Fish Market.
  • Try the foot tall soft serve ice cream cones at East Wind Drive-in, serving up goodies to the Pacific Crest Trail thru-hikers and featured in the movie Wild.

  • See the Columbia river up close and personal at Viento State Park.  Dip your toes in the Columbia River while watching the kiteboarders launch and look for salmon swimming upriver.
  • Follow the salmon’s journey upriver to Hood River and enjoy a walk along the Hood River Waterfront Trail.
